PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that, when a cylindrical roller bearing with an aligning ring is used as a bearing supporting a roll attached to a continuous casting machine, there is a need of using a roller having a small diameter in a limited space, and the P.C.D. (Pitch-Circle-Diameter) of the roller is reduced, and the load capacity of the bearing is reduced as well. SOLUTION: A roll 3 for forming is divided into three pieces. Thus, when a slab 1 is conveyed to a prescribed place so as to be held by each roll 3 for forming, the amount of deflection caused by loading worked from the slab is reduced, so that there is no need of performing the support of each roll 3 for forming by using a bearing having center-alignability, but it is made possible to deal therewith only by using a common cylindrical roller bearing 16. By the degree that there is no need of using a bearing having center-alignability, the number of cylindrical rollers 19 can be increased, or the diameter of the cylindrical roller 19 can be made large.
