The perfume tester spray comprises a pump (21) connected to a bottle (23) of perfume with a spray head (27) which can spray perfume on to a paper sampling strip. The strip is placed on a sliding plate (30) which also operates the pump when it is pushed in. A pivoting arm (40) fits against a collar (42) on the spray head and locks it when no strip is present on the plate.
