A fastener for securing vacuum insulating panels has two grip flanges (1, 2), for gripping each side of the panels, linked by a flexible film (3) which is aligned along the edge of the panels. The lower flange (2) is fitted on the underside with a wall grip element (4) to secure the fitting. The upper flange (1) is part of a hollow support spacer (16) onto which the trim panels are secured. The film link can be a foil, woven strap, fibres or any material with good tensile strength.
