<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide techniques to suppress increase in the size of the apparatus for addition of steam to a reformed gas and to supply a reformed gas with a more uniform temperature distribution state to a shift part. <P>SOLUTION: A large number of water passages and reformed gas passages are formed in a layered structure 17 of thin plates in a steam mixing part. The water supplied from the outside to the steam mixing part is passed through a main passage 76 to a branched passage 79 and discharged into each water passage. The discharged water exchanges heat with the reformed gas in the reformed gas passage. Thus, the reformed gas is cooled and discharged, while the water in the water passage is gradually vaporized, drained from the end of the water passage and then mixed with the reformed gas flowing into the reformed gas passage. The amount of the water discharged into the water passage is controlled to a specified uneven state depending on the position of the branch in the passage which guides the water to be discharged into each water passage. By supplying a larger amount of water to the zone where temperature is easily elevated, the temperature distribution state of the discharged reformed gas can be made uniform. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
