FRICTIONAL ENGAGEMENT DEVICE OF AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frictional engagement device that operates to engage or separate a friction plate constituting a clutch of an automatic transmission by movement of a piston, and allows stable inflow or outflow of oil to a balance chamber without being affected by running of a vehicle.

SOLUTION: The outer periphery of a spline tooth 14 of a spline shaft 9 is provided with an inlet 13 of oil flowing into the balance chamber 4 for balancing with and canceling a centrifugal force acting on a working fluid fed into an oil chamber 3 for operating the piston 2. A joint 15 of a snap ring 11 is positioned at a part of the spline tooth 14a having large face width.
