PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for extracting a pitch period of voice signal by which a pitch period is accurately extracted in a short period of processing time. SOLUTION: This method includes a first step for dividing the whole delay time range into a plurality of sections, a second step for determining product sum time lengths respectively when autocorrelation coefficients are calculated for each divided section in accordance with delay time ranges of the sections, a third step for calculating autocorrelation coefficients for each divided section obtained at the first step for delay times in the delay time ranges of the sections by using the product sum time lengths calculated for each divided section, and a fourth step for determining a pitch period on the basis of the autocorrelation coefficients calculated at the third step.
