PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a panel door 10 which allows reduction in construction cost at the time of reforming the same, and also to provide a method for assembling the panel door. SOLUTION: A stile 12 having a hole 12d formed in its butt end, and a stile 13 in which the recess 13d for mounting a hinge is formed at the butt end, are prepared respectively. Then an intermediate panel 11 is cut according to the width of a door opening in the construction field to adjust a width of the panel, and a width of the entire door after attaching both the stiles 12, 13 to the intermediate panel 11 is set to the width dimension of the door opening. Since the stiles 12, 13 have been worked on for mounting the grip and the hinge therein, the operator only need to work on the height dimension of the stiles 12, 13 and the height and width dimensions of the intermediate panel 11, and therefore omits cumbersome work of mounting the grip and the hinge on the door.
