PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manufacturing method of an optical fiber cord for smoothly inserting a coated optical fiber inside a coating material and manufacturing the optical fiber cord by pulling a tension fiber inserted inside the coating material. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the optical fiber cord, the tension fiber is inserted to the insertion hole of the coating material on which the insertion hole is formed, the tip part of the coated optical fiber is inserted to the insertion hole of the coating material together with the tension fiber, the tension fiber projecting from the tip part of the coating material is pulled, and thus the optical fiber cord is manufactured.
