PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide (1) a calcium-binding type light-emitting protein concentrated aqueous solution which can continuously emit light, to obtain (2) a light-emitting substance which comprises the calcium-binding type light-emitting protein concentrated aqueous solution and a viscosity-adjusting agent and can continuously emit light, and to provide (3) a method for controlling their continuous light-emitting times. SOLUTION: Inventors of this invention have found that a material (light-emitting substance) obtained by concentrating the calcium-binding type light-emitting protein concentrated aqueous solution continuously emits light for a constant time or longer by highly reducing the contact frequencies of Ca2+with the light-emitting substance in the material. Thereby, the invention relates to the continuously light-emitting substance which comprises the concentrate of the calcium-binding type light-emitting protein aqueous solution, in details, related to the calcium-binding type light-emitting protein concentrated aqueous solution which can continuously emit light. In another embodiment, this invention relates to the light-emitting substance which comprises the calcium-binding type light-emitting protein concentrated aqueous solution and the viscosity-adjusting agent and can continuously emit light.
