PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a porous film which can efficiently remove a hydrophilic polymer in a short time from the porous film comprising a hydrophobic polymer and the hydrophilic polymer. SOLUTION: In the method, the porous film comprising the hydrophobic polymer and the hydrophilic polymer is brought into contact with a hypochlorite aqueous solution with pH adjusted below 9 to decompose/remove at least part of of the hydrophilic polymer. Since the decomposition of hypochlorous acid can be accelerated, the hydrophilic polymer can be removed efficiently in a short time to attain high permeation performance. Therefore, the method is an industrially excellent method in which a spinning process and a washing process can be implemented continuously. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
