<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink set excellent in the fastness of an image and color balance of the image. <P>SOLUTION: The ink set includes at least one ink containing at least one coloring matter containing a chelated metal ion, and at least one ink containing at least one coloring matter having an absorption spectrum changed by the interaction with the metal ion. The coloring matter containing the chelated metal ion is a compound represented by general formula I (wherein, X<SB>1</SB>to X<SB>4</SB>are each -SO-Z, -SO<SB>2</SB>-Z, -SO<SB>2</SB>NR<SB>1</SB>NR<SB>2</SB>, a sulfo group, -CONR<SB>1</SB>R<SB>2</SB>or -CO<SB>2</SB>R<SB>1</SB>; Z is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, cycloalkyl group, alkenyl group, aralkyl group, aryl group or heterocyclic group; R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>are each hydrogen atom, or have the same meaning as Z; Y<SB>1</SB>to Y<SB>4</SB>are each a monovalent substituent; a<SB>1</SB>to a<SB>4</SB>are each an integer of 0-4, with the proviso that all thereof are not simultaneously 0; b<SB>1</SB>to b<SB>4</SB>are each an integer of 0-4; M is hydrogen atom, a metal atom, or oxide, hydroxide or halide thereof). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
