<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a precursor for a planographic printing plate having good suitability to manufacture, free of unevenness in processing and scumming of a non-image area and ensuring good printing resistance. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing a precursor for a planographic printing plate in which a heat sensitive layer comprising a water-insoluble and alkali-soluble resin and an IR absorbing dye and having solubility in an alkali solution increased by heating is formed on a long aluminum support and this support is rolled up, after forming the heat sensitive layer, the face on which the heat sensitive layer has been formed is steamed and the resulting precursor is rolled up and stored. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
