<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding type insulating tube which is possible of connection in narrow space and is excellent in assembly work efficiency, and a method of assembling the cable connection. <P>SOLUTION: Cables 4 and 4' are aligned and both ends are skinned, and both-end sections (sections A and B) are enlarged in diameter. For the center section C, the section A of an insulating tube 1 not enlarged in diameter is set on one cable 4, and the diameter-enlargement supporting member for the section A is removed and then it is mounted on the cable 4. Next, the section B is slid as it is in diameter-enlarged state, thereby being laid temporarily in piles on the diameter-enlarged section (section A) on the side of the other end as shown in Figure (a). Further, after connection of the fellow conductors of the cables 4 and 4', it is slid onto the adherend of the other cable 4', while the section B is enlarged in diameter as shown in Figure (b), and while the above turnup is stretched, the diameter enlargement supporting material 2 at the section B is removed to allow shrinkage, thereby attaching it to a cable connection as shown in Figure (c). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
