<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar capable of detecting also the azimuth of a target close to a beam scanning range outside the scanning angle range of a beam, concerning the radar for transmitting/receiving a detection signal and changing the beam azimuth over a prescribed scanning angle range. <P>SOLUTION: A received signal intensity change (signal intensity profile) in the azimuth direction generated in accompany with a change of the beam azimuth over the prescribed scanning angle range is acquired, and the azimuth of the target generating the signal intensity profile is estimated from the signal intensity profile forming a part of an angular shape appearing near the outermost angle in the scanning angle range. For example, the azimuth of the target is estimated from the ratio between the received signal intensity at the outermost angle of 10.0°and the received signal intensity at 9.5°on the inner side by one section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
