摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a journal bearing suitable for pivotally supporting a rotating shaft rotating at a high peripheral speed and a high bearing pressure. SOLUTION: This journal bearing comprises a tubular metal holder 2 having an inner peripheral surface 2a formed in a tapered shape and a sliding member 3 formed of a heat resistant and wear resistant resin having an outer peripheral surface 3a formed in a tapered shape and an inner peripheral surface on which a sliding surface 3b is formed. The sliding member 3 is press-fitted into the holder 2 in the state of the holder 2 being heated near the fusing temperature of the sliding member 3 to form the holder 2 integrally with the sliding member 3 by fusing. Thus since the heat resistance and the sliding performance of the sliding surface are increased, the journal bearing suitable for the rotating shaft rotating at the high peripheral speed and the high surface pressure can be easily provided at a low cost.
