PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressor foot for sewing machine that can guide the sewing for smooth operation of opening and closing a fastener without biting the workpiece. SOLUTION: A slide fastener F and a cloth E are stacked, one on top of the other, and fed into a location of a sewing machine (drawing not shown) where its needle drops and a meshing member Fa of the slide fastener F is inserted and set to a guide slot 3b of a pressor foot 3 that composes the sewing machine gathering foot 1. The sewing machine is activated and while feeding the slide fastener F and the cloth E to the workpiece feeding direction the interlocking member Fa of the slide fastener F is guided approximately parallel to the workpiece feeding direction along the guide slot 3b of the pressor foot 3, and the sewing is carried out by guiding the sewing operation to a position in proximity or spaced apart at predetermined intervals against the location where a needle B drops.
