PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for digitally decoding a layered modulation signal.

SOLUTION: A system and a method for receiving layered modulation concerning a digital signal. An exemplary apparatus is provided with a synchronizing device (500) for receiving a layered signal to generate a layered in-phase signal and a layered quadrature phase signal from this; an analog-to-digital converter (504) for digitizing the layered in-phase signal and the layered quadrature phase signal; and a processor (506) for decoding the layered in-phase signal and the layered quadrature phase signal, to generate one or more different layer signals.
