<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accept various cards by generating card attribute information automatically in response to the inserted card. <P>SOLUTION: When a CPU 12 detects that small cards 20/21 are inserted into card slots 17a/b, a PC card adapter 10 is initialized and the CPU 12 accesses the small cards 20/21 via controllers 16a/b by the procedure of a CIS generating means 15 to acquire device information of the small cards.
