<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure higher safe protection performance in an air bag. <P>SOLUTION: Slide position information and load information are appropriately processed to permit expansion and development of the air bag 20 only when adult's seating on a seat 12 is discriminated. Only when it is discriminated that a seat slide position is out of air bag expansion area L2 and a position of center of gravity based on each information is within a specified scope, full development as an expansion and development form of the air bag 20 is selected. When it is discriminated that the seat slide position is within the air bag expansion area L1, the position of center of gravity is out of the specified scope, and a position of center of gravity of waist part estimated based on the load information is within the air bag expansion area L1, although it is discriminated that the position of the center of gravity is within the specified scope, stepwise development as the expansion and development form of the air bag is selected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
