PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a thermoplastic resin film, by which a film having uniform physical properties in the width direction by reducing a bowing phenomenon can be obtained. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin sheet substantially unoriented is 1.1 to 6.0 times drawn in the vertical direction at a temperature from (a glass transition temperature (Tg)+30)°C to less than a melting point (Tm), then, is allowed successively to pass through the section having a temperature from (Tg+10)°C to less than Tm for not less than 0.1 second, not being cooled below Tg, to be successively drawn in the lateral direction using a tenter.
