PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of simultaneously displaying≥2 kinds of pieces of information such as character information and picture information. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display unit 101 is provided with a plurality of first liquid crystal cells 101-1 having a first liquid crystal layer, a plurality of second liquid crystal cells 101-2 having a second liquid crystal layer, and an array plate 101-3 on which the first liquid crystal cells 101-1 and the second liquid crystal cells 101-2 are arrayed. The first liquid crystal cells 101-01 and the second liquid crystal cells 101-2 are alternately arrayed on the array plate 101-03 in such a manner that a first visual angle direction of the plurality of the first liquid crystal layers is made a coincident first direction, a second visual angle direction of the plurality of the second liquid crystal layer is made a coincident second direction, and the first and the second directions are made mutually different.
