PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered compact which can be equivalent to the product of which airtightness is required. SOLUTION: In the sintered compact 1 which is made by compacting and sintering a material powder, main component of which is metal, the material powder contains a reduced iron powder, open porosity of which is 12% or less, an average crystal grain size is 40 micrometers or less, and contains nitrogen. Since nitrogen serves as a nuclei at the time of sintering and the crystal growth of iron powder is suppressed, while strength and toughness is improved, also adhesiveness with the surface treatment layer 3 is excellent, and by making the open porosity into 12% or less, surface treatment layer 3 can be formed without sealing treatment, and airtightness can be secured by this surface treatment layer 3.
