PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peroral preparation containing a peroral carbapenem antibiotic, having suppressed bitter taste in administration, good releasability of the active component from the preparation and high stability of the preparation with time, free from the formation of decomposition products in the preparation, excellent in the variety of formulations and resistant to the lowering of the antibacterial activity. SOLUTION: The granular preparation contains 5-80 wt.% active component consisting of pivaloyloxymethyl (1R,5S,6S)-2-[(1-(1,3-thiazolin-2-yl)azetidin-3-yl)thio]-6-[(R)-1-hydroxyethyl]-1-methyl-carbapen-2-em-3-carboxylate and is coated with a gastric coating base. The peroral preparation containing the carbapenem antibiotic and having masked bitter taste is produced by dispersing the granular preparation together with an excipient, a water-soluble polymer and a sweetener and/or flavor.
