PURPOSE: A method for processing a caption of a digital TV is provided to automatically activate a subtitle function in the case of selecting a mute-off, thereby grasping contents of a program through a subtitle in a mute-off state of a digital TV. CONSTITUTION: A digital TV receives a mute command of a user(1). The digital TV confirms the current mute state(2). If the current state is a mute-off state, the digital TV confirms whether a subtitle flag is selected(3). If so, sound is on(4). If not, a subtitle is off and the sound is on(5). If the current state is not the mute-off state, the digital TV confirms whether the subtitle flag is selected(6). If so, the sound is off(7). If not, the subtitle is on and the sound is off(8). |
