LOCATIONAL INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TERMINAL AND GPS POSITIONING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locational information communication terminal and a GPS positioning system in which switching can be made flexibly between a normal sensitivity positioning mode operating a GPS receiver only when it is required and a high sensitivity positioning mode operating it constantly.

SOLUTION: A GPS control section 12 controls the positioning operation in a normal sensitivity positioning mode operating a GPS receiver 10 only when it is required and a high sensitivity positioning mode operating it constantly by performing power supply control of the GPS receiver 10, and acquires up to date orbital information of GPS satellites. A positioning control section 13 makes a switching between the normal sensitivity positioning mode and the high sensitivity positioning mode of the GPS receiver 10, and supplies the GPS control section 12 with the orbital information obtained through a network using a communication control section 11.
