READER/WRITER, MEMBERSHIP CARD RENEWING AND ISSUING METHOD, AND MEMBERSHIP CARD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reader/writer which reads out information recorded in an existing membership card and writes the information thus read to a new membership card provided with a rewritable printing region.

SOLUTION: When a membership card with no rewritable sheet is inserted into the reader/writer, the renewal and issue of the membership card is recognized, and then personal information recorded in the membership card is temporally stored in a memory. Then, after the new membership card with a rewritable sheet is inserted and the personal information stored in the memory is recorded, the contents of the rewritable sheet are initialized.
