PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method and an improved device for curing fractured coxa, which uses a less invasive means without needs to incise quadriceps.
SOLUTION: A thighbone implant according to this invention can be fixed within the bone marrow and into the thighbone head 114 to give necessary pressure for the fractured thighbone to cure. An incision 106 is formed along the greater trochanter 110 in order to put the thighbone implant according to this invention in place. As there is no muscle around the greater trochanter 110 to cover it, the incision 106 can be formed without cutting open the muscles, e.g., quadriceps, to make a cut in the skin and the fascia, and expose the greater trochanter 110. The thighbone implant is then fixed within the thighbone 108, extends in part into the thighbone head 114 to be fixed there, and also extends in part into the thighbone diaphysis to be fixed there.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
