MANIFOLD FOR HEAT EXCHANGER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the new and improved manifold structure for a heat exchanger. SOLUTION: This manifold structure 10 having a longitudinal axis 20 contains a slender tank piece 32 and a slender header piece 34. The tank piece 32 contains a pair of tank edge parts 36 extended in the longitudinal direction with a space and a tank wall 38 extended from one of the tank edge parts 36 toward the other to form a cross sectional shape of the tank piece crossing the longitudinal axis 20. The header piece 34 contains a header edge parts 42 extended in the longitudinal direction and a header wall 44 extended from one of the header edge parts 42 toward the other header edge part to form a cross sectional shape of the header piece 34 crossing the longitudinal axis 20. Excellent joint between the tank piece and the header piece can be obtained during the work for joining the manifold structure 10 by a plurality of embossing beads 48 having an opening inside thereof and respectively engaged with a tub 52.
