PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a protection layer by layering two moisture proof layers on a storage phosphor layer in its production method and suppress degradation of image quality when the radiation image is read out of the storage phosphor layer. SOLUTION: When a support board 10, the storage phosphor layer 20, a first moisture proof layer 30 and a second moisture proof layer 40 are layered in this order, the space between the first moisture proof layer 30 and the second moisture proof layer 40 is depressurized to contact the first moisture proof layer 30 and the second moisture proof layer 40 and stack.
