PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reconstruct a panorama and/or a zoom MR image in MR imaging. SOLUTION: RF (radio frequency) coil assembly 70 is designed so that the number of detecting elements 72 to 78 used in collecting imaging data can exceed the number of data collecting channels 80 to 83 of an MR system 10. In order to collect data to a larger region of interest (ROI), the detecting elements 72 to 78 are sometimes grouped into a number of sets to send the collection data to one ofconcrete data collecting channels 80 to 83 depending on each set, or only one set of detecting elements 72 to 78 corresponding to a smaller ROI is energized so that the respective detecting elements 72 to 78 of this set send the data to one data collecting channel 80 to 83.
