A device for insertion through a single incision in an eye is used to mechanically dilate the pupil in a substantially circular fashion in order to facilitate certain eye surgeries. An apparatus is also provided to house, insert, manipulate and remove the device from the eye. Methods of using the device and the apparatus are also provided.
