OPTICAL ELEMENT AND OPTICAL PICKUP DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element capable of compensating the change of the optical performance of the performance of a glass material even when it is changed by the temperature change of a using environment regarding the optical element having a beam shaping function for converting a luminous flux from a light source having different radiation angles in a horizontal direction and in a vertical direction to an almost circular luminous flux, and an optical pickup device provided with the optical element.

SOLUTION: The optical element for beam shaping having the beam shaping function for converting the luminous flux from the light source having the different radiation angles on two planes including an optical axis to the almost circular luminous flux is provided with a temperature compensating function for suppressing the change of wave front aberration due to the change of a using temperature.
