<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method in which a user can control returning to a default value from a temporary printer property in an operating system which uses GUI on a computer. <P>SOLUTION: In a data processing system (20), a print job is printed by a printer (38) using a printer property which is available for the printer 38 when spooling of the print job is performed. Generally, the printer (38) prints with the default printer property. however, a user can temporary override the default printer property by designating a temporary printer property in an application.
