PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device for vehicle capable of warning a driver when the driver dozes off at the wheel without making behavior of the vehicle unstable. SOLUTION: An arousal detector 16 detects an arousal degree based on a pattern of movements of an eyeball of the driver photographed by a CCD camera, for example. When the driver is in an arousal deteriorated state, the vehicle enters into a warning mode in a condition that the vehicle is in a specified traveling state, such as a vehicle speed is 40 to 100 km per hour and the vehicle is in a linear traveling state. In the warning mode, it is controlled that a steering actuator 2 is maintained to be in a present state, and the advancing direction of the vehicle is prevented from being varied. A steering member 1 is turned to an operation direction X in a predetermined amplitude angle by a reaction force actuator 9. Thus, the driver taking the operation member 1 can be surely awaked.
