PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing magnetic particles which exhibit hard magnetism and can be manufactured efficiently without increasing the temperature in an annealing treatment, and to provide the magnetic particles manufactured by the manufacturing method and a magnetic recording medium containing the magnetic particles in the magnetic layer. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the magnetic particles having the processes wherein alloy particles capable of being formed into a CuAu type or a Cu3Au type hard magnetic regular alloy layer are manufactured and the alloy particles are treated by oxidation, and thereafter they are annealed in a non-oxidation ambiance and in vacuum at 300-920hPa, and the magnetic recording medium containing the magnetic particles and the magnetic particles manufactured by the manufacturing method in the magnetic layer.
