<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium capable of performing high density recording, ensuring a sufficient degree of modulation even in a range of recording speed of about 1.0 to 10 times speed in a recording linear speed, and has high storing reliability and good over-writing characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium 1 has at least a recording layer 3 generating a phase transition between a crystalline phase and an amorphous phase by irradiation with optical beams on a base sheet 7, and performs recording and regeneration of information by utilizing change of optical properties between the phases. The recording layer 3 comprises a material expressed by formula 1: Cu<SB>α</SB>Sb<SB>β</SB>(wherein α and β are atomic ratios, and 20≤α≤55, 45≤β≤80, and α+β=100). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
