<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly carry paper and maintain excellent image quality without making a device larger by lengthening a paper transport path even when the paper passes a plurality of kinds of image forming units having different image forming speeds in order. <P>SOLUTION: When an ink image is formed by a second image forming unit 220, paper P fed from a paper supply unit 300 is carried in a second paper transport path 240 in a direction of arrow D via a first paper transport path 230 in a direction of an arrow C. After passing the second image forming unit 220 once, the transportation direction is reversed and during conveyance of the paper P in the second paper transport path 240 in a direction of an arrow E, the ink image is formed on the surface at the second image forming unit 220. Then the paper P is carried in the second paper transport path 240 in the direction of an arrow D again and is ejected on a paper output tray 261 in a paper output unit 260 with an image forming surface turned upward. . <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
