THREE-DIMENSIONAL DATA ACQUIRING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional data acquiring apparatus for performing measurement, being easily carried, and suitably used for creating a three-dimensional model.

SOLUTION: A video camera 2 is capable of continuously picking up images by changing its location and attitude and acquiring image data on an image pickup area 4. A laser measuring device 3 for measuring the distance to a point of measurement 6 by laser 9 is rotatably mounted to the video camera 2 and is capable of scanning the area 4 with the laser 9 at predetermined intervals. The distance L between the laser measuring device 3 and the point of measurement 6 is acquired as distance data, and the angle of the measuring device 3 to the video camera 2 is acquired as angle data. Characteristic points are set on the basis of them. By computing changes in the relative location and attitude of the video camera 2 at image pickup and converting each image data into image data viewed from a set reference location, it is possible to create a three-dimensional point cloud model which expresses an object of image pickup by point expression.
