PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera apparatus and a photographing method of an object in which inconvenience is eliminated when taking a picture wherein a user himself/herself is to be photographed. SOLUTION: Temporary photographing and main photographing are performed in a prescribed photographing mode. In temporary photographing, a human model image is displayed in a through image displayed on a monitor, the user is made move the human model image to a position desired to take his/her own picture, and data of a composition teaching image G4 in such a state are stored in a memory. After temporary photographing, the composition teaching image G4 is made semi-transparent and composed with a through image G2 which changes with the passage of time, and a synthetic image G5 is displayed on the monitor in place of the ordinary through image. When a shutter is pressed, ordinary photographing processing is performed to record a photographed image. When it is requested to take a picture wherein the user himself/herself is to be photographed to a third person by the user, after temporary photographing is performed by the user himself/herself, main photographing is requested to the third person. The third person performs framing and presses the shutter to overlap the through image G2 on the composition teaching image G4 so that a picture of composition intended by the demander is taken.
