摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the luminance and light emission efficiency in display discharge and to reduce the fluctuation in the luminance and light emission efficiency accompanying an increase or decrease of display load. SOLUTION: The driving process for one pulse component to generate the display discharge of one time comprises a step of generating the display discharge by applying an offset driving voltage Vso higher than a sustain voltage Vs to a display electrode pair and a step of applying the sustain voltage Vs for a specified period by dropping the impressed voltage from the offset driving voltage Vso to the sustain voltage Vs after the generating the display discharge. A driving output state is put into a low impedance state in the period T1 after the start of the application of at least the offset driving voltage Vso before the applied voltage drops to the sustain voltage.
