PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording and reproducing apparatus in which repeat reproductions of an arbitrary block are easily performed a plurality of times. SOLUTION: After a repeat block is designated by a block key 15 of a remote controller 9, a name to be imparted to video of the block is inputted by a character input key 16, and the name is registered on a memory 5 or a hard disk 7. In the case of repeat reproductions, on a screen of a video monitor 12, a name corresponding to a block desired to reproduce is selected out of registered names by the remote controller 9 and the video of the block corresponding to the selected name is repeatedly reproduced. Thus, even when performing the repeat reproductions over and over again, only by selecting the name, the desired video is repeatedly reproduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
