PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preserving a pentaerythritol diphosphite having poor storage stability. SOLUTION: The pentaerythritol diphosphite represented by formula (1) [Ar<SP>1</SP>and Ar<SP>2</SP>are the same or different and a 6-20C substituted or nonsubstituted aryl group; R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>may be the same or different and are each hydrogen atom, a 6-20C substituted or nonsubstituted aryl group or a 1-20C saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group] is preserved in an inert atmosphere at -40°C to 50°C in a water-insoluble organic compound as a medium in a liquid state at a normal temperature under normal pressure.
