PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe manufacturing method in which a face comprising a pipe is prevented from being deformed by an external force in press working and in which increase in the cost accompanying total inspection can be suppressed even if high precision is required for the face or holes formed therein. SOLUTION: The pipe is manufactured by applying an external force to the walls 16a, 16b constituting the adjacent faces of a secondary intermediate formed article 14, by bringing a pair of side edges 6e, 6e into close contact with each other, and then by working so that a spring-back force for holding this close contact state remains. In the working step for forming this secondary intermediate formed article 14, plastic working sections 6f extending in a direction crossing the bent line of the metallic plate are formed in the walls 16a, 16b constituting the adjacent faces.
