PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distillation column having high separation efficiency, in which the vapor amount is made constant all over the column including a feed section and a side steam take-off section. SOLUTION: Partition walls DW are arranged substantially along the longitudinal direction of the distillation column so that the inside of the distillation column is divided into an upper zone 2 and a lower zone 4 of the feed section, an upper zone 3 and a lower zone 5 of the side stream take-off section, an upper common column section 1 and a lower common column section 6. A feeding mixture to be separated between the zones 2 and 4 of the feed section is in a wholly or partially vaporized state and/or the side stream to be taken off from the zones 3 and 5 of the side stream take-off section is in a wholly or partially vaporized state.
