A modular device (100) for providing a passage through a partition in a structure. The modular device (100) includes a riser housing (4b) comprising a chamber(10) fluidly coupling a base opening (6) in a base portion (4a) with a distal opening (8) at a distal end (8a) and a shaped cavity housing (102) comprising a shaped cavity (106), a primary opening (120) and a secondary opening (104). A connector assembly (110) releasably coupling the distal opening (8) at the distal end (8a) of the riser housing (4b) to the secondar y opening (104) on the shaped cavity housing (102). An intumescent material (2 6) is preferably located in the chamber (10).
