HEAT EXPANDABLE REFRACTORY MATERIAL COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat expandable refractory material composition which is capable of preventing the occurrence of the dripping down in the application and the occurrence of crack of a formed heat insulation layer and has high reliability as a heat expandable refractory material in the heat expandable refractory material composition expanding by receiving heat in fire to exhibit flame shielding heat insulation function.

SOLUTION: The heat expandable refractory material composition consists essentially of a water soluble alkali silicate and inorganic powder and contains short fibrous material having 0.5-10 mm average fiber length.
