<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold a seat belt in a condition in which it is wound in from an initial position without generating excessive heat in a circuit. <P>SOLUTION: A seat belt retracting device 10 is provided with a lock mechanism 20 for stopping pulling-out of a belt of a seat belt retractor 16. The lock mechanism 20 is composed of a lock gear 22 fixed to a rotor 16, a paul 24 meshed with the lock gear 22 to stop rotation in the direction of pulling-out of the belt of the lock gear 22, and an actuator 26 meshing the paul 24 with the lock gear 22. Solenoid 30 of the actuator 26 is turned on by a solenoid on signal from a pre-crash controller 36 for predicting collision. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
