<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an estimating method for the masses of vehicles by which the mass of a vehicle can be estimated with high precision. <P>SOLUTION: After the wheel torque of the vehicle in the course of running is compensated by a wheel torque which is necessary for the vehicle to run at a constant speed on a flat road and has been found beforehand, a regression line of the compensated wheel torque with respect to the acceleration and deceleration of the vehicle is found, and from the gradient of the regression line the mass of the vehicle is estimated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
