<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber which is suitable for CWDM transmission. <P>SOLUTION: The optical fiber is characterized in that the mean transmission loss of signal light of 1383 nm in wavelength is smaller than that of signal light of 1310 nm in wavelength and the length is≥1 km. Further, the difference between the maximum value of section loss of the signal light of 1383 nm in wavelength at arbitrary 1 km and the mean transmission loss is smaller than 0.03 dB/km. Individual optical fiber cables when used for a MAN type optical communication system of can have transmission loss suppressed small, cable by cable. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
