<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To introduce into a toll road a system of IC prepaid cards made more secure than magnetic cards, while enhancing users' convenience. <P>SOLUTION: This tolling system comprises a vehicle kind identifying device 12 installed at the entrance of a lane where a process regarding use is performed on vehicles passing through the toll road to identify the kinds of vehicles passing through the road; a plurality of ticket issuing parts 45 installed vertically on the road side of the lane to issue tickets from either of a plurality of height positions; a plurality of antenna parts 46 installed in positions near the ticket issuing parts 45 for processing IC cards brought close to or into contact with them; and a lane controller 19 for causing a ticket to be issued from the ticket issuing part 45 at the height position corresponding to the kind of vehicle identified by the identifying device 12 and for receiving the ticket issued by the ticket issuing part 45 when either of the plurality of antenna parts 46 has processed an IC card. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
